Amir found that the number of forcible rapes in the U.S. tended to increase during the hot summer months. Summer was also noted as the time when multiple rapes are most likely to occur. Uniform Crime Reports also show a higher incidence of rape in the warmer spring and summer months. A study of rape in Denmark - by Svalastoga, covering 1946-56- reached similar conclusions.
