Most extreme male promiscuity

In a field where lovers incline to boast it is always difficult to ascertain the truth. Kinsey found very few men or women who had had more than one hundred sexual partners. Historically, however, a number of performers have notched up a much higher figure than this. Some tales are perhaps too legendary to believe. For example, Conchobar, the King of Ulster in the twelfth century, was said (in the ancient "Book of Leinster") to have slept with all the marriageable girls in the kingdom. Perhaps more reliably, the nineteenth-century Walter is said to have slept with a thousand or two women: the Kronhausens in "Walter the English Casanova" remark that he admitted making love "to at least one thousand two hundred women;" and Brecher in "An Analysis of Human Sexual Response", talks of Walter having an "estimated two thousand women." Perhaps Don Juan with "his personal tally of 2,065 conquests" - is the record holder. (See J. Atkins' "Sex in Literature")
