Lowest estimate of frigidity

Acton presumably thought that most women were frigid, and that such a condition was to be encouraged in the interest of propriety. At the other end of the extreme it has been suggested by many liberal sexologists that there is in fact no such thing as a frigid women, that women thinking themselves to be frigid either do not have a sexual partner whom they love or have been given wrong information about the nature of orgasm. Thus the Hegelers (in "An ABZ of Love") state that "In all the cases in which contended frigidity has been carefully examined it has been found that the woman in question certainly did have sexual feelings".
